Moon is one of the most important planets in Vedic astrology, as it tells about the personality and life of the native. Moon is so important that moon Rashi is given a prominent place when determining important yogas in the natal chart.
Although moon itself will give a definite result, depending on house and sign placement, but the conjunction and aspects of other planets can modify the results significantly.
In this article, we will discuss important conjunctions of moon, with other planets of Vedic astrology.
Moon and Sun conjunction
While Moon and Sun are both royal planets, their nature differ significantly. One is a watery planet, and the other has a fiery energy.
Moon is all about nourishment, mother, health, care, emotions, food, feminine energy, etc. and Sun is all about energy position, self worth, ruling, administration skills, masculine energy, etc.
Sun gives the creative energy and moon gives the energy to take care of something. Some Sutra or texts say that this conjunction can make a person skilled in machinery and construction related activities. Therefore, this combination can give good engineers and builders.
It’s because sun and similar planets like Saturn and Mars give the ability to build and manufacture. These planets are good for technical professions. Moon rules, houses and vehicles, and hence this combination can give people who are good at building houses, interior designing, mechanical stuff etc.
Apart from this, the combination can also give people who are inclined towards politics, teaching or dealing with the masses. As both the planets are royal in nature and Sun represents authority and Moon represents the masses.
The bad aspect of this conjunction is that the native may lose the emotional side of moon, because of the heat of the sun. It’s possible that due to problems with father, or some kind of injustice, at the hand of governing authorities, the person loses emotional care and sensitivity towards the people.
Moon and Mars conjunction
Mars is a malefic planet that gives high amount of passion, strength, and will power to pursue anything desired by the native.
Maybe that’s why this combination is not very well spoken of in the texts. Often, this gives a mischievous personality where the native can get involved in activities that are not ethical. But this is just a generalised result.
Moon combination can give anger issues, impulsiveness, and impatience. Moon being feminine energy, and Mars a highly masculine energy, the person could be attracted to the opposite sex and may be involved with multiple partners.
People with such combination can be good at marketing, real estate, cooking, pottery, etc.
Moon and Venus conjunction
Moon and Venus have quite a similar energy. Both are benefit planets with a lot of feminine energy.
When Moon and Venus combined in a house, then it can give a lot of creativity and interest related to feminine products. The native can be good at weaving, dressmaking, beauty products. They can be working with apparel brands, interior designing, cooking and confectionery and transport related business
People with Moon and Venus conjunction can be inclined to a luxurious life and a lot of comfort in their home. They love decorating their house, wearing nice clothes and dining at good places.
Moon and Mercury conjunction
Mercury as a planet, governs speech, communication, transaction, and other skills. Mercury is a prince among the planets. Mercury shows the childlike energy, full of curiosity about the mortal world.
Therefore, moon and mercury conjunction makes a person good at speech, clever at interpretation, charming and popular among friends
People with Moon and Mercury conjunction may either look young, or they may have a youthful energy. It is a good placement if someone wants to be a trader or a banker.
Moon and Jupiter conjunction
This combination is often called by the name of Gaja Kesari Yoga. It is a very auspicious combination given that both Moon and Jupiter are benefic planets.
Jupiter represents wisdom, growth, expansion, knowledge, prosperity, good luck, and divine blessings.
Moon conjunct with Jupiter blesses the native with good fortune, and a big home. All the significations of moon are expended by Jupiter. The person is good among the masses, and may hold a position where he or she may be the head of family or a section of society. This placement if formed in the right houses, can make someone very popular and respected in society.
Moon and Saturn conjunction
Moon and Saturn conjunction is often called Vish Yoga in astrology. This is because Moon and Saturn are opposite in nature. Moon governs emotions, nourishment, care and faith while Saturn signifies isolation, emotional dryness, negativity, obstacles, responsibilities.
People with this combination often come out to be emotionally dry and filled with pessimistic behaviour. These people don’t trust others easily.
Most natural qualities of Moon like benevolence and selfless care is replaced by the strict attitude of Saturn who believes in giving less, and only to those who deserve it.
These natives can be good with technical stuff and may work in sectors related to the transport of oil and gas, import and export and similar fields.
Moon and Rahu conjunction
This is often called Chandra Chandal Yoga in Vedic astrology. Rahu is the shadow planet often related to the head of the demon Swarabhanu. It is filled with desires and ambitions.
Moon, on the other hand, is the mental state and emotional well-being of the native. Therefore, when Rahu conjuncts Moon, it often causes a delusional personality. Such natives are self obsessed, and driven too much by their desires and ambitions. They fail to see the reality around them.
This is good for success in today’s modern world, because Rahu gives the exact amount of drive, technical intelligence and smartness to succeed.
But for mental and emotional health this placement is not really good. People with this combination are often restless and unsatisfied.
Moon and Ketu conjunction
Ketu is often related to the body of the Demon Swarbhanu in Vedic astrology. It is also a shadow planet that is linked to detachment, brakes, isolation and abstract things.
This conjunction of moon and Ketu makes the person emotionally clueless. Many people with this combination are not good at expressing their feelings properly. In many cases they can either be over expressive or completely cold.
The placement is good for spiritual wisdom, but it is not really good for worldly affairs. These people can sometimes come out to be of low intellect or immature, if not joined by other auspicious factors.
This placement may often give inclination towards spirituality, occult, and other practices.
These are some generalised results of moon conjunction with different planets in Vedic astrology.
